The PowerShares QQQ Championship will host several Birdies for the Brave military initiatives during the tournament, set for Oct. 28-30 at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks. The event is the first of the inaugural Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs that will feature the top 72 players in the Charles Schwab Cup standings.
As part of Birdies for the Brave, a national military outreach initiative supported by the PGA Tour, active duty and reserve military members, military retirees and their dependents will be admitted free of charge by showing a Department of Defense-issued military ID at the gate, along with a military ticket voucher.
To receive a military ticket voucher for complimentary admission or discounted tickets, military guests must register online at https://birdiesforthebrave.sheerid.com and have their military status verified by Sheer ID.
While on the course, there are a number of complimentary activities for military members and their dependents to enjoy. All military guests will be treated to complimentary food and beverages at the Patriots’ Patio by the ninth green.
The tournament will also host a Military Appreciation Ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 7 a.m. The ceremony will feature the singing of the national anthem and a performance by the color guard to honor military in the Thousand Oaks and Ventura County areas. The ceremony will be open to all military members as well as the general public.
