Sometimes the best practice comes when you’re not at a practice facility, so I provide my students with drills to do at their home or office. Most have a busy lifestyle with families and work and, as a result, can’t devote a lot of time to the range.

One of my favorite drills to help me stay connected can be done from the comfort of your home or yard:

Hold an object in your hands such as a basketball, football or even a hat, like shown here. The seperation of the hands is the key, as this allows you to move the object with your chest.

With the object in the center of your chest, slowly rotate while in your golf posture.

Keep your hands in front of your chest when rotating and you’ll notice how your turn will increase. Do this on the follow-through as well.

Do 20 repititions each day, and remember to capture the feeling so you can bring it to the golf course the next time you play.
