Scott Ashworth was elected to the PGA of America’s Board of Directors at its recent annual meeting in Doral, Fla.

Ashworth, a PGA member since 1997 and the director of golf at Four Seasons Resort Lana?i, was elected as District 11 director and will serve a three-year term representing the Aloha, Northern California and Southern California PGA Sections.

“It’s an honor,” said Ashworth, who has more than 25 years of experience in the golf industry. “The PGA of America has given me a career in golf that I really could never have dreamed of. I feel so fortunate to be a part of such an amazing organization.”

A native of Spokane, Wash., Ashworth came to Hawaii in 2001, first as the PGA head professional at Ko Olina Golf Club on Oahu. He joined Four Seasons Resort Lana?i in December 2013, coming from Kauai Lagoons, where he served as director of golf and grounds. He has received several accolades, including 2008 Aloha PGA Section Golf Professional of the Year, the Section’s Bill Strausbaugh Award in 2009 and 2012, and the Horton Smith Award in 2007.

Ashworth and his wife, Tanya, reside in Lanai City near the Four Seasons Resort Lana‘i that recently completed an extensive remodeling project and is the site of the Jack Nicklaus Signature Manele Golf Course.

“I grew up in in the golf business, so I recognize and appreciate the huge impact that renovations make on a golf resort,” Ashworth said. “Seeing the major projects come together makes this is an exciting time to be part of the Four Seasons Resort here on Lana‘i.”
