Callaway’s mid- to late-season launch of equipment includes new clubs and upgrades on a few models. Here’s a glance at the latest from the Carlsbad facility:

Odyssey X-Act Tank chippers

Available in 37- and 46-degree lofts, these clubs utilize Callaway’s Tank weighting that’s built to promote consistent contact. The chippers are designed to function like an approach putter when you’re debating whether to chip or putt the ball. The Hi-Def Marxman alignment system assists with accuracy, and the soft polymer insert and hybrid-like sole help get the ball out of trouble and rolling to the hole. The oversized, non-taper grip design is another feature that helps stabilize the wrists and hands through impact. The longer design also allows for your hands to be put in different positions to get the correct feel on a variety of shots. MSRP: $129.99

MD3 Milled wedges

Callaway’s extension of its MD3 Milled wedge line includes 50-, 52- and 64-degree options. The 50 and 52-degree models are available in W-Grind with cambered soles to provide good turf interaction and controlled trajectory. The setup allows golfers to flight the ball low and make aggressive swings, especially if they have a steep attack angle. Golfers can be even more aggressive around the greens with the 64-degree option that allows you to open the face without the leading edge coming up and make fuller swings on approach shots. The wedges also feature progressive groove optimization with a three-groove package. MSRP: $129.99

Odyssey Milled RSX putters

These putters, designed to give milled feedback and feel, come in #001, #7 and V-Line Fang head shapes. Callaway’s insert innovation is designed for a deeper exploration of sound and feel, with the three options a new take on the #1 shape. The precision milled sound chamber pocket is set behind a 17-4 stainless steel striking surface that has been etched with an oval pattern to provide a better roll off the face. A crossbar also helps stabilize sound and feel across the face as well. A black Cabretta leather grip with a red baseball stitch down the back was designed to combine a premium look with amazing feel. MSRP: $379.99

MD3 Milled Gold Nickel wedges

Available in lofts of 50, 52, 56, 58 and 60 degrees, these wedges are designed to optimize spin for each loft. The S-Grind clubs are designed for a range of conditions, shot types and swings to help players develop confidence and touch around the greens. The MD3 Milled line has Progressive Groove Optimization that optimizes spin as you go up in loft, and the 30V grooves in the pitching and gap wedges are built for shots that require a steep angle into the ball. The 20V grooves in the sand wedge are designed for full shots and bunker shots, and the wider 5V grooves in the lob wedge were built for better control for shots out of the rough. Gold nickel plating was also added for soft feel and a clean appearance. MSRP: $129.99 each

Apex Black irons

For the first time, Callaway is using its 360 Face Cup technology in a forged players iron to provide consistent ball speed across the face and improve playability. The progressive design creates scoring performance from your long irons to your short irons, and the multi-piece construction provides a combination of distance, feel and control. The longer irons (3-7) utilize the Cup 360 to increase ball speeds and forgiveness across the face. In the shorter irons (8-AW), Callaway included an engineered face plate to enhance feel and distance control. The quadruple net forging, precision milling and 1025 mild carbon steel produce a new standard for soft feel in a forged iron. MSRP: $1,299, steel; $1,499, graphite
