Two Southland golf facilities are among 69 in Troon’s portfolio that helped the course management company raise $26.7 million for charities in 2016.

Hundreds of charitable events were held at Troon facilities last year, with Classic Club in Palm Desert and Maderas Golf Club in Poway among them.

“It is both exciting and gratifying that so many charitable organizations were able to raise funds through events at Troon facilities in 2016,” said Mike Ryan, co-chief operating officer and executive vice president at Troon. “We are honored to partner with a number of incredible charities and help give back to the communities we live, work and play in.”

Through Team Troon national sales efforts and Troon charity programs, such as Troon Drives H.O.P.E, facilities actively seek to host charity events each year. In 2016, events at Classic Club contributed $5.04 million to cause, while efforts at Maderas raised $1.46 million.
