A day of golf, camaraderie and competition, followed by an authentic German festival, is in store at Monarch Beach Golf Links on Thursday, Oct. 13, as Monarch Beach Resort celebrates Oktoberfest.

Golf gets a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. on the par-70 Monarch Beach Golf Links, a Robert Trent Jones Jr. design and recent host of the PGA Southern California Open Championship.

The Oktoberfest revelry begins at 5:30 p.m. at Monarch Beach Resort’s Club 19, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and golf course. Authentic German music by The Bluebirds will complement traditional Bavarian fare served family style and beer tasting. Sponsored in part by Straub Distributers, this 21-and-over event will include Oktoberfest beer and more from local craft breweries Laguna Beach Brewery and Coachella Valley Brewing Co., along with Ketel One specialty batch cocktails.

Tickets to play golf and attend the festival are $245 per person. For those who want to join in the festival, beginning at 5:30 p.m., tickets are $99 per person.

Those who went to extend the day into an “Oktoberfest Overnight,” the newly enhanced Monarch Beach Resort has been transformed following a recent 400-room refresh, along with a redesigned lobby, five new dining concepts, an expansive pool area and pool bar, renovated public spaces and a new, exclusive spa partnership with Miraval.

Winner of the Gold Medal Resort Award from Golf Magazine, Monarch Beach Resort accentuates Dana Point’s coastal lifestyle in a luxurious, yet laidback, style. Additional Oktoberfest information and event registration is available at www.monarchbeachgolf.com
