Callaway Golf Company has signed on as title sponsor of the annual pro-am golf tournament put on by The First Tee of Orange County, a nonprofit committed to providing youth with life skills through the game of golf. This year’s event, set for Aug.31,at Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club, includes professional and amateur golfers in a tournament that raises funds for the organization.

Callaway’s participation also helps secure the tournament’s $12,000 purse – to be competed for by 44 professional golfers on both 18-hole layouts at Coto de Caza.

“Having Callaway Golf on board as title sponsor for this year’s pro-am tournament is exactly the type of partnership our chapter was seeking,” said Gail Krause, executive director of The First Tee of Orange County. “Callaway Golf is a highly visible and well-respected golf industry heavy hitter, and the generous support we are receiving greatly impacts our chapter and participants.”

Through Callaway Golf Foundation, the company’s nonprofit arm, more than $13 million has been donated to charitable causes throughout its existence.

“We are so proud to support an event that raises critical funds for The First Tee, which is such an admirable organization nationally,” said Greg Brown, vice president of U.S. sales at Callaway Golf. “When we were approached to get involved with the Orange County chapter, it seemed like a no-brainer, and we are looking forward to a great tournament, a great turnout and helping advance the mission of a great organization.”

Other sponsorship packages for the tournament are still available, from $350 to $10,000. The individual player fee is $400, which includes dinner and other things throughout the day; dinner tickets alone are $100.
