Lisa Getson is the latest business professional to join the board of directors of The First Tee of Orange County. The healthcare executive has more than 25 years of experience in the areas of operations, public policy, lobbying, marketing and business development.

“Adding someone with Lisa’s multifaceted experience to our board roster further enhances our ability to target wide-ranging audiences and construct and support efforts that serve children,” said Gail Krause, executive director of The First Tee of Orange County. “We are gaining a committed volunteer and an outstanding advocate for young people learning life skills from our classes.”

Getson, previously executive vice president of government relations, investor services and corporate compliance for Lake Forest-based Apria Healthcare Group, maintains a diverse philanthropic background, with seats on a number of other boards, including the American Association for Homecare, the National Home Infusion Association and Women Business Leaders of the U.S. Healthcare Industry Foundation.

“Having the opportunity to help advance the mission of The First Tee is something I’ve wanted to get involved with for some time,” Getson said. “Beyond my love of golf and the many virtuous core values woven into the fabric of the game, I am passionate about using my professional experiences to help shape the organization and lift its participants to new heights.”

Established in 2013 and of six chapters in the Southland, The First Tee of Orange County provides golf-related education programs based on the Nine Core Values of confidence, responsibility, respect, honesty, judgment, perseverance, sportsmanship, integrity, and courtesy.
