Women on Course is back on course with a new format and networking focus that includes sites in the Southland

Donna Hoffman, who founded the brand in 2005, restarted the integrated event and marketing company in January after Billy Casper Golf, which acquired the business in 2013, ceased operations two years later. In the interim, Hoffman launched Events19 to continue promoting golf to women across the country, with Women on Course now be under the banner of Events19 LLC.

“I’m thrilled that Women on Course is back with new products and services to revolutionize how women engage in the golf lifestyle,” Hoffman said. “After obtaining feedback from industry professionals along with female golfers and business executives, our new focus is providing integrated services for women entering the game and an interactive database for golfers of all levels. The focus is on competency in golf, relationship-building, business and life skills and, most of all, discovering the pure enjoyment of one of the greatest outdoor games.”

The new Women on Course format is based on four pillars:

The Virtual Clubhouse: A portal delivering information based on preferences, including a personalized profile, member matching, golf ambassador identification, access to special offers and discounts, golf improvement tips and play opportunities.

Fast Track Entry: A self-guided “Prepare, Practice & Play” training program connecting new golfers to the resources needed to become course ready.

Signature Events: Available in key markets for opportunities to learn, play and network around golf.

Marketing/Advisory Services: Golf and event marketing and consulting services to corporations, associations and media outlets.

Prior to being shut down by Billy Casper Golf, Women on Course was touted as the fastest-growing women’s golf community, with more than 2,000 events held in 20-plus markets in its first 11 years. Southern California remains a prime spot for events, Hoffman said, with a few again up and running in Orange County (see box) and others in the L.A. and San Diego markets in the works as well.

FYI

A couple of Women on Course’s Signature Events are on the calendars of two Orange County golf courses, with others in the Southland expected to be available soon.
