USC golf coaches Andrea Gaston and Chris Zambri were selected 2015 coaches of the year by the Golf Coaches Association of America’s West Region.

Gaston steered the Trojans to five victories this season and an appearance in the NCAA Championships match play semifinals, where USC lost to eventual champion Stanford. Gaston’s USC squad finished first in the NCAA Championships’ 72-hole stroke play tournament to earn the top seed in the eight-team match play event. The semifinal appearance extended USC’s women’s streak of NCAA top 5 finishes to 10.

The USC women have won the national title three times in Gaston’s 19 years as coach.

Zambri, who guided the Trojans to this year’s NCAA Championships match play final, has led USC to the NCAA Championships all nine years he has coached the program. The Trojans’ previous best finish at the national tournament was third, in 2008. USC lost in this year’s match play final, 4-1, to LSU.

Zambri’s GCAA Region of the Year coaching honor is the second of his career and the first since 2008.
